Well now..the Photography Adventures have begun. I have had my new camera for exactly a week and I am itching to blog about it.
First off- this is what I bought:
Isn’t she a beauty?
I did not get any discount or promo codes on this. I just bought it. And actually, I was going to buy it from Frys Electronics- it was in an ad last week, and the price and reviews looked great. Then I started shopping.
The price was the same at Target, Frys, Best Buy and Amazon, but for the price- Amazon gave the bag and the memory card.
So I thought- why not. PLUS I got them the same day I ordered. I was itching for it. Bad.
I had a video review that needed doing and I set off to film it and take photos for it.
Well, I have to say that I don’t read instructions for anything. I basically am learning through trial and error. I think my photos reflect that.. lol. For the 600 pictures I have taken so far, there are few that are keepers. I am learning. It is ok.
I do have some expectations though, that were going to need a little technology.
I learned that videos of a stationary object need a tripod. I picked up 2 on the Wish app for like $2 a piece. These are coming in about a month.. so we will hold our breath.
I also seem to have an issue with a shadow on close up stuff when I use my flash. Not sure what this is about. I suspect I am using more lens than I should, and will be considering a new one besides the one it came with. No issues there. Who wouldn’t want to fill their gear bag with lenses?
I got a few cheapy filters to cover the flash, and maybe those will help too. Again- Wish app. A month away.
The good news is that I can take decent pictures of things sometimes. My daughter’s closeups are amazing. I am not so lucky with the dog.. she moves too much and I have 200 pictures of a brown blur. I will figure that out I suppose.
I even had one picture accepted to BigStockPhoto for sale. (If anyone wants to buy it…) It is a small start. They rejected the other 3. But it will be a learning curve for sure.
Overall though, I am having a blast with it. I used to have a Pentax SLR, as I noted in my prior post. It really takes me back having a REAL camera again. Photography Adventures will continue!
